Summertime calls for being creative when it comes to finding fun things to do that keep your children busy! After multiple hours spent outside, all the board games played, tons of movies watched.. what else could we find to do that would be so fun? Living here in Florida, it’s been a very hot summer and if we are planning on doing something fun, we aim to do it in the evenings when it isn't as hot. Doing something as simple as going out for a sweet treat like ice cream, isn't as easy as it sounds and chances are the ice cream would instantly start to melt the second we have it in our hands. With that thought, we decided to create our own ice cream bar at home! The thought of not having to take the family out in this heat was a total plus, not to mention this would be something we all get to create together! First things first, we had to think of all the yummy toppings we would need and want. We decided on rainbow sprinkles, cherries, sliced bananas, chopped peanuts, hot fudge, and sliced strawberries. Joy Cone sent us their delicious waffle bowls as well as their original waffle cones. We chose to use Joy Cone as they have always been a favorite in our household and their quality is amazing! No falling apart the instant your ice cream starts to melt. Which is a huge plus with small children.  My daughter couldn't decide where to start! She was so excited and decided to choose a waffle bowl! After adding some plain vanilla ice cream to her bowl, she freely started to fill it. Right to the top! Adding a little bit of everything to her bowl. Then we each made our own. This was something that we had such a fun time making all together as a family, creating memories. It was such a hit and probably something we will continue to do here a few times a month. Ice cream will never be the same here unless it includes a delicious toppings bar and a sugary, crisp Joy ice cream cone!
